Principal's Message

A Message from Our Principal

It is truly an honor to serve as the Principal of Mayo Elementary School. I continue to be inspired by the incredible dedication of our students, staff, families, and community. Over the past three years, we have seen tremendous growth in academic performance, and I am proud to share that MES was named a Palmetto Silver Award Winner for Student Performance in the 2023–2024 school year. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire school community.

At Mayo, our mission is to provide every child with a high-quality educational experienceThe Green Family through rigorous, innovative, and engaging learning opportunities. We believe in nurturing the whole child and creating a safe, supportive environment where all students can thrive.

Before serving in my current role, I was a teacher and assistant principal in Spartanburg District Two, Greenville County, and Anderson District Five. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Clemson University and a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University.

I’m also blessed with a wonderful family—my husband, Andrew, and our three children: Kaiden, Conall, and Maisie Grace. Outside of school, we enjoy cheering on the Clemson Tigers, traveling to new places, playing fetch with our chocolate lab and goldendoodle, and spending quality time together.

As we look to the future, I am confident that Mayo Elementary will continue on this path of success. I remain committed to upholding our strong tradition of excellence and to keeping “Students First” at the heart of all we do. My decisions will always be made with the best interests of our students and school in mind, and I value the partnership of all stakeholders in helping our school grow.

For this school year, I have outlined three key goals to support our continued progress:

  • Strengthen communication with families and the community through newsletters, open forums, committees (such as PTO and SIC), and individual conversations.
  • Enhance personalized learning by using academic success criteria and individualized student goal-setting to promote high levels of achievement.
  • Increase community involvement through parent and community volunteer opportunities, “Family First” programs, service learning, and celebratory events that bring us together.

Please know that my door is always open. If I can be of assistance in any way, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m excited for another amazing year at Mayo Elementary School!

Warm regards,
Brittany B. Green, Principal Mayo Elementary School
