A Message from Our Principal
It is truly an honor to serve as the Principal of Mayo Elementary School. I am beyond excited to be a part of a special group of teachers and students, staff members, families and community members. It is my hope that while your child is at MES that you find we are committed to providing a quality educational experience with rigorous and innovative learning opportunities for all.
I come to MES with 14 years of experience as a teacher and assistant principal throughout three
wonderful districts including Spartanburg District Two, Greenville County, and Anderson District 5. I received my Bachelors in Education from Clemson University and my Masters in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University. I am very blessed to have a supportive family that includes my husband, Andrew, and our three children–Kaiden, Conall, and Maisie Grace. Outside of school, our family loves cheering on the Clemson Tigers, traveling to new places, playing fetch with our chocolate lab, and creating lasting memories together.
I want each of you to know that Mayo’s strong history of academic success and community support will continue as we work together to ensure our D2 mission of “Students First” continues to be the priority. I will always have the success of MES at the forefront of my decisions and will value the input of all stakeholders. I have three goals I have set for this year to ensure the school’s continued success:
•Create clear, open lines of communication with all stakeholders so that input is welcomed and valued through the use of multiple forums and gatherings, family newsletters, committees such as PTO and SIC, as well as individual conversations.
•Increase personalized learning initiatives through the integration of student academic success criteria and individualized goal setting to ensure the continuation of high levels of student achievement.
•Increase community involvement at MES through the utilization of parent and community volunteers, “Family First” programs, service learning opportunities, as well as hosting special events, awards, and celebrations welcoming parents and community members.
If there is ever anything I can be of assistance with, do not hesitate to call me at MES.
